Congratulations to farm team member John McCoy who today was appointed to the vacant seat in the State Senate to represent the 38th Legislative District, including Everett, Tulalip and parts of Marysville. Senator McCoy received the most votes from Precinct Committee Office at a meeting of local Democrats yesterday evening and officially received the appointment by a 5-0 vote of the Snohomish County Council today.
Senator McCoy was first endorsed by Progressive Majority in 2004 for State Representative. We are delighted to see him “move up the pipeline” to serve in the upper house of the Washington State Legislature in his new role as Senator.
In addition to serving as a legislator, Senator McCoy is an adjunct professor at the Evergreen State College. John is a member of the Tulalip Tribe, a veteran and previously served on Progressive Majority’s advisory council here in Washington state.
